Angel Iris Murphy Brown became a tabloid name before Angel could crawl, caught between Eddie Murphy and Spice Girls star Mel B in a 2007 paternity battle; by 2025, after turning 18, Angel had publicly shared that they are a transgender man, according to PinkNews (LGBTQ+ outlet). The tabloid version of their life had been overtaken by the person Angel says they are—that gap between the 2007 headline and the adult reality is the story the record still struggles to tell.
